Roshar on Minecraft (would be AWESOME)

Postby Rubinev » Tue Jul 03, 2012 10:32 pm

I love the story of The Way of Kings, but it's the world that really is amazing. I want to be able to run from Canyon Fiends in the Shattered Plains, fish in the Clearlake, and spend spheres in bizarre geometric cities. Also, I want to ride a chull. Since I'm unlikely to be able to get to Shadesmar, nevermind Roshar, I'll settle for reading the Way of Kings. :D

In the meantime, though, I wish there were a Roshar version of Minecraft. It's one of the best games for immersion, because despite the blocky graphics nothing's just scenery- you can interact with everything. Minecraft's biome system would be a great fit with the weird landscape of Roshar, and I suspect running from a well coded highstorm would be just as terrifying as suddenly hearing a creeper hissing behind you.

What do ya'll think?

This would be awesome! If you or anyone ever does build Roshar or a large part of it, let us know so we can feature your creation on the blog (hopefully including info on how people can connect and explore the world!).
